Video Conference using the Global Development Learning Network of video conferencing system

Under the activity Regional Modules Seminars on High Value Agriculture using GDLN (1.ESA.D.03), six Video Conference using the Global Development Learning Network of video conferencing system will be organised:

VC 1 - 25 May: Fight against Fruit Flies in Eastern and Southern Africa

VC 2 - 22 June: Post harvest and Transport Technologies
VC 3 - 27 July: Standards and market preferences
VC 4 - last week in September : Increased regional trade.
VC 5 - 13 October: Environment and sustainability issues
VC 6 - 15 November: Smallholders: how to involve small farmers in commercial agriculture.
VC 7 - 8 December: Urbanization and market opportunities

The first event will bring together five countries in the region: Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique and RSA.

Two preparatory documents are available: 

- Fruit fly issue paper and

- a working paper on threat and responses to Bactrocera invadens in South and East Africa countries exporting to South Africa
