AAACP Regional Dissemination workshops

The All ACP Agricultural Commodities Programme is moving towards completion. As such, four Regional dissemination workshops are scheduled to take place from September to November 2011. These meetings will essentially cover non-cotton interventions in the African, Caribbean and Pacific regions. Cotton sector issues will be addressed in a separate meeting that will be held in one of the cotton-growing regions in Africa.

Objective of the workshops

These workshops will present the programme results and identify main tasks outstanding with a view to convince development partners/donors of the relevance to pursue and/or replicate pilot activities implemented under the Programme.

The agenda will be structured around a series of case studies illustrating the approaches developed to reduce poverty by improving and stabilizing incomes and livelihoods of ACP commodities producers. Sectors and topics to be addressed will vary across regions. Time will be allowed to non-AAACP partners to (i) present their initiatives in targeted regions, (ii) identify synergies with AAACP work and their areas of interest for potential continuation. In the same vein, interactive sessions have been planned to provide development partners with the opportunity of identifying possible collaborations for follow-up.
