The cotton to clothing strategy was developed by the regional stakeholders and facilitated by the COMESA Secretariat. The process was made possible by EU funding through the All ACP Agricultural Commodities Programme and the technical support from ITC and USAID-funded Regional Agricultural Trade Support (RATES).

On 28th and 29th July 2011, COMESA will hold a workshop to review the status of the strategy implementation and to expand the stakeholders’ participation, ownership and contribution to the ESA Cotton to Clothing strategy in the region. The meeting will also seek to come up with an action plan to synergized various interventions that are already ongoing or yet to start for better results.
